പശ്ചിമഘട്ടതദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഒരു തവളയാണ് അഗസ്ത്യമല പിലിഗിരിയൻ അഥവാ Dusky Torrent Frog (kalakad Dancing Frog). (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Micrixalus fuscus).[2][3] M. herrei was formerly synonymized[4] ഐ യു സി എൻ പട്ടികപ്രകാരമുള്ള പരിപാലന സ്ഥിതി വേണ്ടത്ര പഠനം നടക്കാത്ത ജീവിവർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ എന്നാണ്. കൊടുംകാടുകളിലെ മലയരുവികളിലാണ് ഇവയെ കാണുന്നത്. കണ്ടുവരുന്ന ഇടങ്ങളിൽ ഇവയെ ധാരാളമായിത്തന്നെ കാണാറുണ്ട്.
