ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ കാർഡിയോളജിസ്റ്റും[1] ചണ്ഡിഗഡിലെ പോസ്റ്റ് ഗ്രാജുവേറ്റ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ ആൻഡ് റിസർച്ചിലെ കാർഡിയോളജി വിഭാഗം ഡയറക്ടറുമായിരുന്നു പുർഷോത്തം ലാൽ വാഹി (1928-2000).[2][3] പഴയ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പഞ്ചാബ് പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ സർഗോദയിൽ 1928 ഡിസംബർ 4 ന് ബിന്ദ്ര ബാൻ വാഹി, ദേവ്കി ദേവി എന്നിവരുടെ മകനായി ജനിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യൻ സൊസൈറ്റി ഓഫ് കാർഡിയോളജിയുടെ ഓണററി ഫെലോ ആയിരുന്നു.[4][5][6] ഇന്ത്യ സർക്കാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ 1983 ൽ നാലാമത്തെ ഉയർന്ന ഇന്ത്യൻ സിവിലിയൻ ബഹുമതിയായ പത്മശ്രീ നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു.[7]
