ഖാവോ യായി ദേശീയോദ്യാനത്തിലെ ഹെയ്വോ സുവാട്ട് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം

തായ്‌ലാന്റിലെ സംരക്ഷിതപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ 147 ദേശീയോദ്യാനങ്ങൾ, 58 വന്യമൃഗസംരക്ഷണകേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ, 67 നൺ-ഹണ്ടിംഗ് പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ, 120 വനോദ്യാനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ (2015 ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച്) ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ഏകദേശം 20 ശതമാനത്തോളമാണിവ.[1] ഇവയെല്ലാം നാച്വറൽ റിസോഴ്സസ് ആൻഡ് എൻവയോൺമെന്റ് (എംഎൻആർഇ) മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള വൈൽഡ് ലൈഫ് ആന്റ് പ്ലാന്റ് കൺസർവേഷൻ ഡിപാർട്ട്മെൻറിൻറെ (ഡിഎൻപി) നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാണ്. 2002 ലാണ് ഈ വകുപ്പ് രൂപവത്കരിച്ചത്.

ആദ്യത്തെ ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായ ഖായോ യായി (National Park Act B.E. 2504) 1961-ലാണ് നിലവിൽ വന്നത്. കൂടാതെ ആദ്യത്തെ മറൈൻ ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായ ഖായോ സാം റോയി യോട്ട് നിലവിൽ വന്നത് 1966-ലാണ്.[2]
