അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ പതിനാറാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ജനവാസമേറിയതും ടെക്സസ് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ അഞ്ചാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ജനവാസമേറിയതുമായ നഗരമാണ് ഫോർട്ട് വർത്ത്[8]. വടക്ക് സെൻട്രൽ ടെക്സസിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന നഗരം പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ അമേരിക്കയുടെ സാംസ്കാരിക കവാടമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ടറന്റ് കൗണ്ടിയുടെ ആസ്ഥാനമായ നഗരം ടറന്റ്, ഡെന്റൺ, ജോൺസൺ, പാർക്കർ, വൈസ് കൗണ്ടികളിലെ 350 ചതുരശ്ര മൈൽ (910 കി.m2) പ്രദേശത്തായി വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നു. 2010ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം നഗരത്തിൽ 741, 206 പേർ വസിക്കുന്നു.[5][9][10]. ഡാളസ്-ഫോർട്ട് വർത്ത് മെട്രോപ്ലക്സിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ജനവാസമേറിയ നഗരവും കൂടിയാണ് ഫോർട്ട് വർത്ത്.

1849ൽ ട്രിനിറ്റി നദിക്ക് അഭിമുഖമായി നദീതീരത്തുള്ള ഒരു സൈനിക ഔട്ട്‌പോസ്റ്റായിട്ടാണ് നഗരത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കം. പാശ്ചാത്യ പാരമ്പര്യം മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്ന നഗരത്തിൽ പരമ്പരാഗത വാസ്തുവിദ്യയിലും നിർമ്മാണശൈലിയിലുമുള്ള കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ ധാരാളമുണ്ട്[11][12]. ഫോർട്ട് വർത്തിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള അമേരിക്കൻ നാവികസേനയുടെ ആദ്യ കപ്പൽ USS ഫോർട്ട് വർത്ത് (LCS-3) ആണ്.
