ഗ്രീസിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനനഗരമാണ്‌ ഏതന്‍സ്‌. 1896-ല്‍ ഏതന്‍സിലാണ്‌ ആധുനിക ഒളിംപിക്സ്‌ തുടങ്ങിയത്‌.^[3] 39 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വിസ്തീര്‍ണ്ണമുള്ള ഈ നഗരത്തില്‍ 745,514 ആളുകള്‍ വസിക്കുന്നു. 3,400 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ചരിത്രമുള്ള ഈ നഗരം, 1834 മുതല്‍ ഗ്രീസിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനനഗരമാണിത്.‌
