[9] വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിന് നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് 1988 ൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ സിവിലിയൻ ബഹുമതിയായ പദ്മഭൂഷൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ സർക്കാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നൽകി. [10] 1997 ൽ അദ്ദേഹം അന്തരിച്ചു, യുഎസ് ആസ്ഥാനമായുള്ള സാമൂഹ്യ പ്രവർത്തകയായ ലക്ഷ്മി പ്രതൂരി മകളാണ്. [11] ഹൈദരാബാദിലെ ഒരു യോഗ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട്, പത്മഭൂഷൻ ഡിആർപി തിരുമല റാവു ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് യോഗ എന്നിവ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ളതാണ്. [12]
