(Belize). മുൻപ് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഹോണ്ടുറാസ് എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന രാജ്യമാണിത്. 1981-ൽ ബ്രിട്ടനിൽ നിന്ന് സ്വതന്ത്രമായി. ബ്രിട്ടന്‌ അമേരിക്കയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന അവസാനത്തെ അവകാശഭൂമിയായിരുന്നു ഇത്. ബെലീസ് നഗരമാണ്‌ തലസ്ഥാനം. രാജ്യത്തെ ജനസംഖ്യാ വളർച്ചാ നിരക്ക് പ്രതിവർഷം 1.87% ആണ്. ജനസംഖ്യാ ഈ മേഖലയിൽ രണ്ടാമതും പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ അർദ്ധഗോളത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്നതുമാണ്.^[2]
