മാർക്ക് റിച്ചാർഡ് ഷട്ടിൽവർത്ത് (ജനനം സെപ്റ്റംബർ 18, 1973) ഒരു സൗത്താഫ്രിക്കൻ വ്യവസായിയും, സ്വന്തമായി ചെലവുകൾ വഹിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുള്ള രണ്ടാമത്തെ ബഹിരാകാശ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരിയും, ബഹിരാകാശത്തെത്തിയ ആദ്യത്തെ ആഫ്രിക്കക്കാരനുമാണ്‌.[1][2] ഇദ്ദേഹം ആണ് കാനോനിക്കൽ എന്ന കമ്പനിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകൻ.

ഐൽ ഓഫ് മാൻ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് താമസിക്കുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിൽ നിന്നും യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിംഗ്ഡത്തിൽ നിന്നും ഇരട്ട പൗരത്വം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[3][4]2020-ലെ സൺഡേ ടൈംസ് റിച്ച് ലിസ്റ്റ് അനുസരിച്ച്, ഷട്ടിൽവർത്തിന് 500 മില്യൺ പൗണ്ട് മൂല്യമുണ്ട്.[5]

ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ഫ്രീ സ്റ്റേറ്റിലെ വെൽകോമിൽ ഒരു സർജന്റെയും നഴ്സറി-സ്കൂൾ അദ്ധ്യാപികയുടെയും മകനായി ഷട്ടിൽവർത്ത് ജനിച്ചു,[6] ഷട്ടിൽവർത്ത് വെസ്റ്റേൺ പ്രൊവിൻസ് പ്രിപ്പറേറ്ററി സ്കൂളിൽ (അവസാനം 1986-ൽ ഹെഡ് ബോയ് ആയി) സ്കൂളിൽ ചേർന്നു, തുടർന്ന് റോണ്ടെബോഷിൽ ഒരു ടേം. ബോയ്‌സ് ഹൈസ്‌കൂൾ, തുടർന്ന് ബിഷപ്പ്സ്/ഡയോസസൻ കോളേജിൽ ചേർന്നു, അവിടെ അദ്ദേഹം 1991-ൽ ഹെഡ് ബോയ് ആയിരുന്നു.[7][8]ഷട്ടിൽവർത്ത് കേപ്ടൗൺ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ഫിനാൻസ് ആൻഡ് ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ സിസ്റ്റത്തിൽ ബിസിനസ് സയൻസ് ബിരുദം നേടി. വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായിരിക്കെ, യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ റെസിഡൻഷ്യൽ ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് കണക്ഷനുകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഏർപ്പെട്ടു.[9]
