മാർജ്ജാര വംശത്തിലെ ഒരു വന്യ ഇനമാണ് കാട്ടുപൂച്ച അഥവാ കാട്ടുമാക്കാൻ. മനുഷ്യരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കാത്ത ഇവ നാട്ടിലിറങ്ങി വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങളെ ഭക്ഷണമാക്കാറുണ്ട്. ആഫ്രിക്ക, യൂറോപ്പ്, മദ്ധ്യേഷ്യ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ഇന്ത്യയും ചൈനയും ഇവയുടെ ആവാസമേഖലകളാണ്[2].
