ഹാൻ‌ടവൈറസ് വാക്സിൻ
ഹാൻ‌ടവൈറസ് ഹെമറേജിക് പനി ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഹാൻ‌ടവൈറസ് അണുബാധകളിൽ നിന്ന് മനുഷ്യർക്ക് സംരക്ഷണം നൽകുന്ന വാക്സിനാണ് ഹാൻ‌ടവൈറസ് വാക്സിൻ. അക്യൂട്ട് ഹാന്റവൈറസ് അണുബാധ, ലോകമെമ്പാടും രോഗമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനാലും ഇതുമൂലമുള്ള മരണനിരക്ക് വളരെ കൂടുതലായതിനാലും വാക്സിൻ ഉപയോഗം പ്രധാനമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 1950 മുതൽ 2007 വരെ ചൈനയിൽ 15 ദശലക്ഷം കേസുകളും 46,000 മരണങ്ങളും ഈ രോഗംമൂലം സംഭവിച്ചതായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 2005 മുതൽ 2010 വരെ ഫിൻ‌ലാൻഡിൽ 32,000 കേസുകളും 1996 മുതൽ 2006 വരെ റഷ്യയിൽ 90,000 കേസുകളുമാണ് കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്. ആദ്യത്തെ ഹാൻ‌ടവൈറസ് വാക്സിൻ 1990 ൽ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തത് ഹാന്ടാൻ റിവർ വൈറസിനെതിരായുള്ള ഉപയോഗത്തിനായിട്ടാണ്. [2] ചൈനയിൽ ഓരോ വർഷവും ഏകദേശം 20 ദശലക്ഷം ഡോസ് വാക്സിൻ നൽകാറുണ്ട്. [3]
വാക്‌സിനുള്ള ഫാർമസ്യൂട്ടിക്കൽ വ്യാപാര നാമം ഹാന്ടാവാക്‌സ് (Hantavax) എന്നാണ്. [2] [4] 2012 ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് യൂറോപ്പിലോ യുഎസ്എയിലോ ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ ഹാന്റവൈറസ് വാക്സിൻ അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. [5] വാക്സിൻ ഉപയോഗം സംബന്ധിച്ച ഗവേഷണം തുടരുന്നു. [6]
