നിലത്തൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരിനം സൂചിത്തുമ്പിയാണ് ചുട്ടിവാലൻ താമരത്തുമ്പി (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Paracercion calamorum).^[2]^[1] റഷ്യയിലും, ചൈന, ജപ്പാൻ, ഇന്ത്യ, തുടങ്ങിയ മിക്ക ഏഷ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും ഇവ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. P. c. calamorum, P. c. dyeri എന്നീ രണ്ട് ഉപവർഗങ്ങളിൽ P. c. dyeri ആണ് കേരളത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്.^[1]
