ഹിമാലയൻ നെറ്റിൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീലഗിരി നെറ്റിൽ എന്നു സാധാരണ അറിപ്പെടുന്ന ചെന്തൊട്ടി (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Girardinia diversifolia) നേപ്പാളിലും ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഹിമാലയപ്രദേശത്തും ചൈനയുടെ പലഭാഗങ്ങളിലും വ്യാപകമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു കുറ്റിച്ചെടിയാണ്.[2] [3] [4]. 1,200 to 3,000 metres (3,900 to 9,800 feet) വഎ ഉയരമുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഇതു വളരുന്നു.[5] ചോലരാജൻ ശലഭ-ലാർവകളുടെ ഭക്ഷണസസ്യമാണ് ഇത്.[6]

ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ചെന്തൊട്ടിയുടെ പരമ്പരാഗത ഉപയോക്താക്കൾ നേപ്പാളിലുടനീളമുള്ള ഗുരുങ്, മഗർ, റായ്, തമാംഗ് ആളുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള വംശീയ വിഭാഗങ്ങളാണ്.[7] ഇതിന്റെ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ ഗുരുങ്ങുകൾക്കും റായികൾക്കും സാംസ്കാരികമായി പ്രധാനമാണ്[7][8] ഇത് വാണിജ്യപരവും മതേതരവുമായ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായും വിൽക്കുന്നു.[9] ചെടിയുടെ ഫൈബർ ഇതര ഉപയോഗങ്ങളിൽ കാലിത്തീറ്റയായും ഇന്ധനമായും ജൈവവേലിയായും പരമ്പരാഗത മരുന്നുകളിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[8][7] ഇതിന്റെ നാര് വളരെ വഴക്കമുള്ളതും ഉയർന്ന ദൃഢതയുള്ളതുമാണ്, ഇത് വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും ബാഗുകളും മുതൽ ഫ്ലോർ മാറ്റുകളും കയറും വരെയുള്ള നിരവധി കാര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കാനാവും.[10][7][11][12] ചെന്തോട്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന നാരുകൾ പൂർണമായും ബയോഡീഗ്രേഡബിൾ ആണ്.[10]
