ലോകമെമ്പാടും ആയി ഏകദേശം 1.35 ബില്യൺ (ലോക ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 15-16%) ഹിന്ദുമത വിശ്വാസികളുണ്ട്.[1] നേപ്പാളും (81.3%) [2][3] ഇന്ത്യയും (79.8%)[4] ജനസംഖ്യയിൽ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ഭൂരിപക്ഷമുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളാണ്. അതേപോലെ മൗറീഷ്യസിൽ (ആഫ്രിക്കൻ ഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു ദ്വീപ് രാഷ്ട്രം) ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 48.14% ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ആണ്, ക്രിസ്തുമതം (31.5%), ഇസ്ലാം (23.3%) എന്നിവയാണ് അവിടുത്തെ മറ്റ് മതങ്ങൾ.[5][6] ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ ശതമാനം അനുസരിച്ച് ലോകത്തിലെ അഞ്ച് പ്രധാന മതങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഹിന്ദുമതം. ക്രിസ്തുമതത്തിനും ഇസ്ലാമിനും പിന്നിൽ ലോകത്തിലെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ വലിയ മതമാണ് ഹിന്ദുമതം. നിലവിൽ, ഇന്ത്യയും നേപ്പാളും ഹിന്ദു ഭൂരിപക്ഷ രാജ്യങ്ങളാണ്. ഏഷ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലാണ് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഹിന്ദുമത വിശ്വാസികളും കൂടുതലുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടവ (കുറയുന്ന ക്രമത്തിൽ) ഇന്ത്യ, നേപ്പാൾ, ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്, ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ (പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് 84% ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ഉള്ള ബാലി), പാകിസ്ഥാൻ, ശ്രീലങ്ക, മലേഷ്യ, സിംഗപ്പൂർ, യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സ്, മ്യാൻമർ, തായ്ലൻഡ്, യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിംഗ്ഡം, കാനഡ, ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക, മൗറീഷ്യസ്, സുരിനാം ആൻഡ് കരീബിയൻ ( വെസ്റ്റ് ഇൻഡീസ്) എന്നിവയാണ്.

കാനഡ, ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയ, ന്യൂസിലൻഡ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പടെ ലോകമെമ്പാടും ധാരാളം ഹിന്ദു എൻക്ലേവുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ബാലി ദ്വീപിലെ ബാലിനീസ് (ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ), ജാവയിലെ ടെംഗർ, ഓസിംഗ് (ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ), വിയറ്റ്നാമിലെ ബാലമോൺ ചാംസ്, ഘാനയിലെ ഘാന ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ എന്നിവരും ഹിന്ദുമതം ആചരിക്കുന്നു..

പശ്ചാത്തലം[തിരുത്തുക]

ഹിന്ദുമതം നിരവധി ചിന്താധാരകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന മതമാണ്. ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിന് പരമ്പരാഗത സഭാക്രമമില്ല, കേന്ദ്രീകൃത മത അധികാരികളില്ല, ഭരണസമിതിയില്ല, പ്രവാചകന്മാരില്ല; ഹിന്ദുക്കൾക്ക് ബഹുദൈവാരാധകരോ, ഏകദൈവവിശ്വാസിയോ, പാന്തീസ്റ്റിക്, ഏകത്വവാദിയോ, അജ്ഞേയവാദിയോ, മാനവികവാദിയോ, നിരീശ്വരവാദിയോ ആകാൻ കഴിയും. രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിന്റെ ഏകദേശ കണക്കുകൾ ഈ വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ചിന്തയുടെയും ജീവിതരീതിയുടെയും പ്രതിഫലനമാണ്.

ജനസംഖ്യാപരമായ കണക്കുകൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ഹിന്ദു ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ ജനസംഖ്യാപരമായ കണക്കുകൾ 2012 ൽ പ്യൂ റിസർച്ച് സെന്റർ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്, [8] അതുപോലെ യുഎസ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റിന്റെ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ റിലീജിയസ് ഫ്രീഡം റിപ്പോർട്ട് 2006[9] എന്നിവ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ്.

മൊത്തം എണ്ണമെടുത്താൽ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ആണ് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഹിന്ദുക്കളുള്ളത്. ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ ശതമാനത്തിൽ, ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഹിന്ദുക്കളുടെ ശതമാനം നേപ്പാളിലാണ് , തൊട്ടുപിന്നാലെ ഇന്ത്യയും മൗറീഷ്യസും ഉണ്ട്. [10] 2020-ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ഹിന്ദു ജനസംഖ്യ ഏകദേശം 1.2 ബില്യൺ ആണ് (ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിറ്റിക്കും ഇസ്ലാമിനും ശേഷം ലോകത്തിലെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ വലിയ മതമായി ഇത് മാറുന്നു), അതിൽ ഏകദേശം 1.1 ബില്യൺ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു (ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ഉള്ള രാഷ്ട്രം), ലോകത്തിലെ 94% ഹിന്ദുക്കളും ഈ രാജ്യത്ത് താമസിക്കുന്നു.[11][12] സ്ഥിതിവിവരക്കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്ക് പുറത്ത് 100 ദശലക്ഷം ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ താമസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.[13] 2010-ൽ, ലോകത്തിലെ രണ്ട് രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ മാത്രമേ ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ഹിന്ദുക്കളായിട്ടുള്ളൂ - നേപ്പാളും ഇന്ത്യയും.[14] 2015 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം മൗറീഷ്യസിൽ ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 48.14 ശതമാനം ഹിന്ദുക്കളായിരുന്നു.[15] ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്, ഫിജി, ഭൂട്ടാൻ, ഗയാന, സുരിനാം, ട്രിനിഡാഡ് ആൻഡ് ടൊബാഗോ, ശ്രീലങ്ക എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ എണ്ണത്തിൽ വളരെ കൂടുതലും സ്വാധീനമുള്ളതുമായ ഹിന്ദു ന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങളുണ്ട്.
