ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ചലച്ചിത്രനടിയും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തും ബാലസാഹിത്യകാരിയും ബാലാവകാശപ്രവർത്തകയുമാണ് നന്ദന സെൻ (ജനനം: 1967 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 19). 2005-ൽ സജ്ഞയ് ലീല ബൻസാലി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുകയും അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചൻ, റാണി മുഖർജി എന്നിവർ പ്രധാനവേഷങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ബ്ലാക്ക് എന്ന ബോളിവുഡ് ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിലാണ് നന്ദനാ സെൻ ആദ്യമായി അഭിനയിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ ചിത്രത്തിൽ റാണി മുഖർജിയുടെ പതിനേഴു വയസ്സുള്ള ഇളയ സഹോദരിയായി നന്ദന അഭിനയിച്ചു. റാം ഗോപാൽ വർമ്മ, കേതൻ മേത്ത എന്നീ സംവിധായകരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള നന്ദന സെൻ 2005-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ദ വാർ വിത്തിൻ എന്ന ഹോളിവുഡ് ചിത്രത്തിലും പ്രധാന വേഷം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു. ഈ ചിത്രം ടൊറന്റോ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.[1][2][3]

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

സാമ്പത്തികശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും നൊബേൽ സമ്മാന ജേതാവുമായ അമർത്യാ സെന്നിന്റെയും ബംഗാളി സാഹിത്യകാരി നബനിത ദേവ് സെന്നിന്റെയും പുത്രിയാണ് നന്ദന സെൻ. പത്രപ്രവർത്തകയായ അന്തരാ ദേവ് സെന്നിന്റെ സഹോദരിയാണ്. നന്ദന സെൻ കുട്ടിയായിരുന്നപ്പോഴാണ് അവരുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ കൃതി സന്ദേശ് എന്ന ബാലസാഹിത്യ മാസികയിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നത്. വിഖ്യാത ചലച്ചിത്രസംവിധായകൻ സത്യജിത് റേ ആണ് ഈ കൃതി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണത്തിനായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്.[4] യൂറോപ്പിലെയും അമേരിക്കയിലെയും ഇന്ത്യയിലെയും വിവിധ നഗരങ്ങളിലാണ് നന്ദന വളർന്നത്.

നന്ദന സെൻ 2010-ൽ

ഹാർവാർഡ് സർവകലാശാലയിലാണ് നന്ദനാ സെന്നിന്റെ ബിരുദപഠനം പൂർത്തിയായത്.[5] യു.എസ്.സി. ഫിലിം സ്കൂളിൽ ചലച്ചിത്രപഠനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ നന്ദന ധാരാളം ഹ്രസ്വചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങൾ നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. നന്ദന നിർമ്മിച്ച അറേഞ്ച്ഡ് മാരേജ് എന്ന ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം വിവിധ ചലച്ചിത്രമേളകളിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ ലീ സ്ട്രാസ്ബെർഗ് തീയറ്റർ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിലും ലണ്ടനിലെ റോയൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് ഡ്രമാറ്റിക് ആർട്ടിലും നന്ദന സെൻ അഭിനയം പഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ബാലാവകാശ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

അഭിനയത്തിനു പുറമേ കുട്ടികളുടെ അവകാശങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലും നന്ദന സെൻ സജീവമാണ്. കുട്ടികൾക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര പരിപാടിയായ ഓപ്പറേഷൻ സ്മൈലിന്റെ ബ്രാൻഡ് അംബാസഡറാണ്.[6] കുട്ടികൾക്കെതിരെയുള്ള ലിംഗവിവേചനവും അക്രമങ്ങളും തടയുന്നതിനുള്ള യുനിസെഫിന്റെ ബോധവൽക്കരണ പരിപാടിയിൽ ഇന്ത്യയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[7] ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ദേശീയ ബാലാവകാശ കമ്മീഷൻ, RAHI എന്നിവയിലും നന്ദന പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[8][9][10][11][11][12][3] ബാലാവകാശങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് പല അന്താരാഷ്ട് വേദികളിലും നന്ദന പ്രസംഗിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[10][13][13][14][15][10][16][17][18]

സിനിമ[തിരുത്തുക]

വിവിധ ഭാഷകളിലായി ഇരുപതിലധികം ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ നന്ദന സെൻ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 2014-പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ രംഗ് രസിയ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ നന്ദനയുടെ 'സുഗന്ധ' എന്ന കഥാപാത്രം ഏറെ നിരൂപകപ്രശംസ നേടിയിരുന്നു.[19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][23][28] വിഖ്യാത ചിത്രകാരൻ രാജാ രവിവർമ്മയുടെ ജീവിതകഥ പറഞ്ഞ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലെ അഭിനയത്തിനു മികച്ച നടിക്കുള്ള കലാകാർ പുരസ്കാരം 2015-ൽ നന്ദനാ സെന്നിനു ലഭിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.[29][15][28] ഈ ചിത്രത്തിൽ നന്ദന സെൻ നഗ്നയായി അഭിനയിച്ചത് വലിയ വിവാദമായിരുന്നു.[30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42]

നിരവധി ബാലസാഹിത്യ കൃതികൾ നന്ദന സെൻ രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. [43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52][53] Talky Tumble of Jumble Farm (Penguin Random House India, 2017), Not Yet! സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

2013-ൽ പെൻഗ്വിൻ റാൻഡം ഹൗസ് ചെയർമാൻ ജോൺ മകിൻസണും നന്ദനാ സെന്നും തമ്മിലുള്ള വിവാഹം നടന്നു.[54] വിവാഹത്തിനു മുമ്പ് നന്ദന സെന്നും ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവ് മധു മന്തനയും തമ്മിൽ പ്രണയത്തിയായിരുന്നു.[55]
