ഉഷ്ണമേഖലാ തെക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു സിട്രസ് പഴമാണ് സിട്രസ് ഹിസ്ട്രിക്സ്, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കഫീർ ലൈം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന മക്രട്ട് ലൈം [4] (US: /ˈmækrət/, UK: /məkˈruːt/)[5] [6]
ഇതിന്റെ പഴങ്ങളും ഇലകളും തെക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യൻ പാചകരീതിയിലും സുഗന്ധതൈലം സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[7]ഇതിന്റെ പുറംതൊലിയും ചതച്ച ഇലകളും തീവ്രമായ സിട്രസ് സുഗന്ധം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.
