ദാന്തെ ഗബ്രിയൽ റോസെറ്റിയുടെ ഏറ്റവും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കവിതയായ "ദി ബ്ലെസ്ഡ് ഡാമോസെൽ" അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി അദ്ദേഹം തന്നെ വരച്ച അതേ പേരുള്ള പെയിന്റിംഗ് ആണ് "ദി ബ്ലെസ്ഡ് ഡാമോസെൽ". 1850-ൽ പ്രീ-റാഫേലൈറ്റ് ജേർണലിലാണ് (The Germ (periodical)) ഈ കവിത ആദ്യമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത്. റോസെറ്റി പിന്നീട് രണ്ടുതവണ കവിത പരിഷ്കരിക്കുകയും 1856, 1870, 1873 വർഷങ്ങളിൽ വീണ്ടും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[1]
എഡ്ഗർ അലൻ പോയുടെ "ദ റേവൻ" എന്ന കവിതയിൽ നിന്ന് ഈ കവിത ഭാഗികമായി പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടതാണ്.[2] തൻറെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവളുടെ മരണത്തിൽ ഭൂമിയിലിരുന്ന് ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന കാമുകൻറെ വർണ്ണന ആണ് കവിതയിൽ. എന്നാൽ നേരെ മറിച്ച് ചിത്രത്തിൽ സ്വർഗത്തിലിരുന്ന് ഡമോസൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ തന്റെ കാമുകനെ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതായും പുനഃസമാഗമത്തിനായി കേഴുന്നതായും ആണ് ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
