1878-ൽ പ്രീ-റാഫലൈറ്റ് ശൈലിയിൽ ഡാന്റേ ഗബ്രിയേൽ റോസെറ്റി ചിത്രീകരിച്ച ഒരു എണ്ണച്ചായാചിത്രമാണ് എ വിഷൻ ഓഫ് ഫിയാമെറ്റ. റോസെറ്റിയുടെ ബാലഡ്സ് ആന്റ് സോനെറ്റ്സിനൊപ്പം (1881) "ഇരട്ട ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ" പകുതിയായിരുന്നു ഈ ചിത്രം[1].ഫിയാമെറ്റ എന്ന ബോക്കാസിയോയുടെ കാവ്യദേവതയാണ് ചിത്രകലയുടെ വിഷയം.

പെയിന്റിംഗിന്റെ ഫ്രെയിം മൂന്ന് വാചകങ്ങൾ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്: ബോക്കാസിയോ എഴുതിയ സോനെറ്റ് "ഫിയാമെറ്റയുടെ അവസാന കാഴ്ചയിൽ" എന്ന തലക്കെട്ടിൽ ചിത്രകലയ്ക്ക് പ്രചോദനമായി; റോസെറ്റിയുടെ വിവർത്തനവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം കവിതയും ചിത്രകലയെ പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു:
Behold Fiammetta, shown in Vision here.
Gloom-girt 'mid Spring-flushed apple-growth she stands;
And as she sways the branches with her hands,
Along her arm the sundered bloom falls sheer,
In separate petals shed, each like a tear;
While from the quivering bough the bird expands
His wings. And lo! thy spirit understands

All stirs with change. Her garments beat the air:
The angel circling round her aureole
Shimmers in flight against the tree's grey bole:
While she, with reassuring eyes most fair,

പെയിന്റിംഗ് തുടക്കത്തിൽ, വാട്ടർ വില്ലോ, ലാ ബെല്ല മനോയുടെ ചോക്ക് പഠനം, മറ്റൊന്ന് മെനെമോസൈൻ (1876, പ്രോസെർപൈനിന്റെ ഓയിൽ പതിപ്പ് (1877 collection privée) എന്നിവയോടൊപ്പം ജോളി കോറിന്റെ (1867 മാഞ്ചസ്റ്റർ സിറ്റി ആർട്ട് ഗ്യാലറി) ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള എഡിസൺ ഇലക്ട്രിക് ലൈറ്റിംഗ് കമ്പനിയുടെ ഒരു കാലത്തെ ഡയറക്ടറും ബിസിനസുകാരനുമായ വില്യം ആൽഫ്രഡ് ടർണറുടെ (1839-1886)[2] കൈവശമായിരുന്നു. മറ്റ് ഉടമസ്ഥരുടെ ഒരു ശ്രേണിയിലൂടെ എ വിഷൻ ഓഫ് ഫിയാമെറ്റ ഇപ്പോൾ ആൻഡ്രൂ ലോയ്ഡ് വെബർ പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ശേഖരത്തിലേക്ക് കടന്നു.[1]
