ബാദ് പാർട്ടിയുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തിലുള്ള സിറിയൻ സർക്കാരും സർക്കാരിനെ അട്ടിമറിക്കാൻ ശ്രമം നടത്തുന്ന വിമത സൈന്യവും തമ്മിലുള്ള ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധമാണ് സിറിയൻ ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധം. 2011 മാർച്ച് 15 മുതൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധം ഇപ്പോളും തുടർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കകയാണ്. യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയനും അമേരിക്കയും പരസ്യമായി വിമത സൈന്യത്തിനെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നു. തുടക്കത്തിൽ പ്രസിഡൻറ് ബാഷർ അൽ അസദിനെതിരെയുള്ള പ്രക്ഷോഭം സമാധാനപരമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ സർക്കാർ അടിച്ചമർത്തൽ തുടങ്ങിയതോടെ സ്ഥിതി അക്രമാസക്തമായി . രണ്ടു വർഷത്തിലധികമായി നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഇരുവശത്തും നിന്നും ഗുരുതരമായ മനുഷ്യാവകാശധ്വംസനം നടന്നതായി ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ വിഭാഗം കണ്ടെത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ 2013 ഏപ്രിൽ വരെയുള്ള കണക്കുപ്രകാരം എകദേശം 70,000 പേർ കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയും 35 ലക്ഷം പേർ അഭയാർഥികളാവുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നാണു വിലയിരുത്തൽ.[47]

പശ്ചാത്തലം[തിരുത്തുക]

അസദ് സർക്കാർ[തിരുത്തുക]

1964-ൽ വിപ്ലവത്തിലൂടെ അധികാരത്തിൽ വന്നതാണ് അറബ് സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് ബാദ് പാർട്ടി, സിറിയ. 1966-ൽ വീണ്ടും അട്ടിമറിയിലൂടെ അധികാരം മാറുകയുണ്ടായി. 1970-ൽ ഇപ്പോളത്തെ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ബാഷർ അൽ അസദിന്റെ പിതാവും പ്രതിരോധമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്ന ഹാഫിസ് അൽ അസദ് അധികാരം പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായി. 1971 മാർച്ചിൽ പ്രസിഡണ്ടായി സ്വയം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു, മരണം വരെ തുടർന്നു. ഹാവിസിന്റെ കാലം മുതലേ ജനങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം കുറവായിരുന്നു.[48] 2000 ജൂൺ 10-ന് ഹാഫിസിന്റെ മരണാന്തരം മകൻ ബാഷർ അൽ അസദ് പിൻഗാമിയായി അധികാരത്തിലേറി.

ജനസംഖ്യ[തിരുത്തുക]

സിറിയയിലെ അറുപതു ശതമാനത്തോളം വരുന്ന ജനസംഖ്യ അറബ് സുന്നി വിഭാഗമാണ്. പ്രസിഡന്റ് അസദ് പന്ത്രണ്ടു ശതമാനം മാത്രം വരുന്ന അറബ് അലാവൈത് സമുദായമാണ്. സമുദായങ്ങൾ തമ്മിലുള്ള വൈര്യം കലാപത്തിനു കൂടുതൽ വഷളാകൻ ഇടയാക്കി.

അഭയാർത്ഥികൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ ഏകദേശ കണക്കുപ്രകാരം കുറഞ്ഞത് പത്തു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ജനങ്ങൾ അഭയാർത്തികളായി. പലരും അയൽ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു പലായനം ചേയ്തു. വൻ തോതിൽ ജോർദൻ, തുർക്കി എന്നിവടങ്ങിലിൽ അഭയാർത്തി ക്യാമ്പുകൾ തുറക്കപെട്ടു.

മനുഷ്യാവകാശ ധ്വംസനം[തിരുത്തുക]

നിരവധി അന്താരഷ്ട്ര രാജ്യങ്ങൾ പ്രധാനമയും അമേരിക്കയും ബ്രിട്ടണും സിറിയൻ സർക്കാർ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ ധ്വംസനം നടത്തുന്നതായി പരാതിപെട്ടിരുന്നു. 1963 മുതൽ 2011 വരെ അടിയന്തരാവസ്ത നിലവിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പട്ടാളത്തിനു പ്രത്യേക അധികാരം ഉപയോഗിച്ചു നൂറു കണക്കിനാളുകളെ തടഞ്ഞു വയ്ക്കുകയും ജയിലിൽ ആക്കുകയും ചേയ്തു.[49]
