മോണോസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റി
ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു ലിംഗത്തിൽ ഉള്ളവരോട് മാത്രമായുള്ള പ്രണയ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ലൈംഗിക ആകർഷണമാണ് മോണോസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റി എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.[1] മോണോസെക്ഷ്വൽ ആയ ഒരാൾ എതിർലിംഗ ലൈംഗികത ഉള്ളവരോ സ്വവർഗ്ഗാനുരാഗിയോ ആകാം. [2][3] ലൈംഗിക ആഭിമുഖ്യം സംബന്ധിച്ച ചർച്ചകളിൽ, ഈ പദം പ്രധാനമായും അലൈംഗികത, ബഹുലൈംഗികത (ബൈസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പാൻസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റി) എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് വിപരീതമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[4]
മോണോസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റി ശ്രേഷ്ഠമാണെന്ന വിശ്വാസത്തെ തുടർന്ന് ഉടലെടുക്കുന്ന, വ്യക്തികളെന്ന നിലയിൽ ബൈസെക്ഷ്വാലിറ്റിയോടും ബൈസെക്ഷ്വൽ ആളുകളോടുമുള്ള ഇഷ്ടമില്ലായ്മയാണ് ബൈഫോബിയ. [5]
