ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ, വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന നഗരമാണ് നാസിക് (pron:ˈnʌʃɪk) (ⓘ)[3]. നാസിക് ജില്ലയുടെയും നാസിക് ഡിവിഷന്റെയും ആസ്ഥാനമാണിത്. മുംബൈ, പുണെ നാഗ്‌പൂർ എന്നീ നഗരങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ നാലാമത്തെ വലിയ നഗരമാണിത്.
പശ്ചിമഘട്ടമലനിരകളുടെ താഴെയായി ഗോദാവരി നദിയുടെ തീരത്തായാണ് നഗരം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 700 മീ (2,300 അടി) ഉയരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ നഗരം മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ പ്രധാനനഗരങ്ങളിലൊന്നും ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ദശലക്ഷത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ ജനസംഖ്യയുള്ള മില്ല്യൺ പ്ലസ് നഗരങ്ങളിലൊന്നുമാണ്.
