ഒരു സ്പീഷീസ് മാത്രമുള്ള സപുഷ്പിയായ ഒരു ജീനസ് ആണ് അസരിന (Asarina procumbens). [2]ട്രെയിലിംഗ് സ്നാപ്ഡ്രാഗൺ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന[3]ഈ സസ്യം തെക്കൻ യൂറോപ്പിലെ തദ്ദേശവാസിയാണ്. ആരംഭത്തിൽ സ്ക്രോഫുലാരിയേസിയേ (figwort family),കുടുംബത്തിൽ ആണ് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് ഈ ജീനസ് കൂടുതൽ സാദൃശ്യം കാണിക്കുന്ന പ്ലാന്റാജിനേസീ (plantain family) കുടുംബത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറ്റുകയുണ്ടായി.[4]അസരിനയെ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു പഴയ ലോക സ്പീഷീസായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.
