ഫ്രീ സോയിൽ പാർട്ടി അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിൽ വളരെക്കുറച്ചുകാലം മാത്രം നിലനിന്നിരുന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടി. 1848 -1852 വരെയുള്ള പ്രസിഡന്റ് തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുകളിൽ സജീവമായിരുന്ന ഈ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടി, ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ ബഫാലോയിൽ രൂപം കൊണ്ടു. രണ്ട് പാർട്ടികൾക്ക് വ്യക്തമായ ശക്തിയുള്ള അമേരിക്കയിൽ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക വിഷയത്തെ മാത്രം മുൻനിർത്തി ശക്തി പ്രാപിച്ച പാർട്ടിയായിരുന്നു ഫ്രീ സോയിൽ പാർട്ടി. ന്യൂയോർക്ക് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലായിരുന്നു അതിന് ഏറ്റവും ശക്തിയുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. അടിമത്തം എന്ന ഒരു വിഷയത്തേ മാത്രം മുൻനിർത്തിയാണിത് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചത്. അന്നത്തെ അടിമത്തത്തിനെതിരായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ച ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് പാർട്ടിയിലെ അംഗങ്ങളായിരുന്നു ഈ പാർട്ടിയിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ആഫ്രോ അമേരിക്കക്കാർക്കെതിരായ വിവേചനത്തിനെതിരായ നിയമങ്ങൾ മാറ്റാനായി അവർ പരിശ്രമിക്കുകയും വിജയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
