Stercorarius antarcticus എന്നു ശസ്ത്രീയ നാമമുള്ള തവിടൻ സ്കൂവയെ ആംഗലത്തിൽ Antarctic skua, subantarctic skua, southern great skua, southern skuaഎന്നൊക്കെ വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഇതൊരു വലിയ കടല് പക്ഷിയാണ്.

മത്സ്യം, മുട്ട, ചെറിയ സസ്തനികൾ, അഴുകിയ വസ്തുക്കൾ എന്നിവ കഴിക്കുന്നു.
