ഫ്രാൻസിസ് സേവ്യർ, (7 ഏപ്രിൽ 1506 – 3 ഡിസം.1552) നവാരെ രാജ്യത്ത് (ഇപ്പോൾ സ്പെയിൻ-ഫ്രാൻസ്) ജനിച്ച ഒരു റോമൻ കത്തോലിക്ക മിഷനറിയും ഈശോസഭയുടെ സ്ഥാപകരിൽ ഒരാളും ആണ്. അദ്ദേഹം വിശുദ്ധ ഇഗ്നേഷ്യസ് ലെയോളയുടെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയും 1534ൽ മോണ്ട്മാർട്രെയിൽ വച്ച് സമർപ്പിതരായ ആദ്യത്തെ ഏഴ് ജെസ്യൂട്ടുകളിൽ ഒരാളും ആയിരുന്നു [1]. അദ്ദേഹം അന്ന് ഭൂരിഭാഗവും പോർച്ചുഗീസ് അധീനതയിലായിരുന്ന ഏഷ്യയിലേക്ക് വലിയ ഒരു മിഷൻ ദൗത്യം നയിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ കത്തോലിക്ക വിശ്വാസം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹം വലിയ പങ്ക് വഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യക്ക് പുറമേ ജപ്പാൻ, മൊളൊക്കസ്, ബോർണിയോ എന്നിങ്ങനെ മറ്റു ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ മിഷനറികൾ അധികം കടന്നു ചെന്നിട്ടില്ലാത്ത രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ വ്യാപിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. എന്നാൽ അവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഭാഷ പരിചിതമല്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാലും അത്തരം ഒരു ഉദ്യമത്തിലേർപ്പെടുന്ന ആദ്യത്തെ ആളായിരുന്നതിനാലും ഇന്ത്യയിലെതു പോലെ ഇവിടങ്ങളിൽ വിജയം കൈവരിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനായില്ല.
