പോർട്ടുഗീസുകാരുടെയും ഡച്ചുകാരുടെ കോളനവൽക്കരണത്തിന്റെയും ഭാഗമായി വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ മേഖലയിലെ പ്രധാന വിനോദസഞ്ചാര ആകർഷണമായി റെസിഫ് മാറിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. നഗരത്തിന്റെ തെക്ക് 60 കിലോമീറ്റർ (37 മൈൽ) ദൂരെയുള്ള പോർട്ടോ ഡി ഗലിൻഹാസ് ബീച്ച്, ബ്രസീലിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ബീച്ച് എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.ഒലിൻഡയിലെ ഹിസ്റ്റോറിക് സെന്റർ, 1982 ൽ യുനെസ്കോ ലോക പൈതൃക സ്ഥലമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. രണ്ട് നഗരങ്ങളുടെയും ബ്രസീലിയൻ കാർണിവൽ ലോക പ്രശസ്തമാണ്.
