കാനഡയിൽ ജനിച്ച ഒരു ഘാന നടിയാണ് ജാക്കി അപ്പിയ (ജനനം 5 ഡിസംബർ 1983[1]) .[2] ഒരു അഭിനേത്രി എന്ന നിലയിലുള്ള അവരുടെ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിന് 2010-ലെ ആഫ്രിക്ക മൂവി അക്കാദമി അവാർഡിലെ മികച്ച നടിക്കുള്ള അവാർഡുകളും കൂടാതെ 2007-ലെ ആഫ്രിക്ക മൂവി അക്കാദമി അവാർഡിൽ ഒരു സഹനടിക്കുള്ള അവാർഡും ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി അവാർഡുകളും നോമിനേഷനുകളും അവർക്ക് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. [3][4] 2008-ലെ ആഫ്രിക്ക മൂവി അക്കാദമി അവാർഡിൽ ഒരു പ്രധാന വേഷത്തിലെ മികച്ച നടിക്കും വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന മികച്ച നടിക്കുമായി അവർക്ക് രണ്ട് നോമിനേഷനുകൾ ലഭിച്ചു.[5][6]

1983 ഡിസംബർ 5 ന് കാനഡയിലാണ് ജാക്കി അപ്പിയ ജനിച്ചത്. അഞ്ച് മക്കളിൽ അവസാനത്തേതാണ്. ടൊറന്റോയിൽ ജനിച്ചതിനാൽ അവർ ഒരു ഘാനക്കാരിയായ കനേഡിയൻ ആണ്. കുട്ടിക്കാലം കാനഡയിൽ ചിലവഴിച്ച അവർ പത്താം വയസ്സിൽ അമ്മയോടൊപ്പം ഘാനയിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറി.[7] അപ്പിയ എന്ന അവരുടെ ആദ്യനാമത്തിലാണ് അവർ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. 2005-ൽ പീറ്റർ അഗ്യെമാങ്ങിനെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ച അപ്പിയയ്ക്ക് ഒരു മകനുണ്ട്.[8] അപ്പിയയുടെ പിതാവ് ക്വാബെന അപ്പിയയാണ് (കുമാസിയിലെ പ്രശസ്ത അഭിഭാഷകനായ പരേതനായ ജോ അപ്പിയയുടെ ഇളയ സഹോദരൻ) നിലവിൽ കാനഡയിലെ ഒന്റാറിയോയിലെ ടൊറന്റോയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്നു.

തിംഗ്സ് വി ഡു ഫോർ ലൗ എന്നതിന്റെ എഴുത്തുകാരനായ എഡ്വേർഡ് സെദ്ദോ ജൂനിയർ ക്ഷണിച്ചപ്പോൾ അപ്പിയ സ്‌ക്രീനിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നത് പതിവായി. പിന്നീട് ടെന്റക്കിൾസ്, ഗെയിംസ് പീപ്പിൾ പ്ലേ, സൺ-സിറ്റി എന്നിവയിലും മറ്റ് നിരവധി ടിവി സീരീസുകളിലും അവർ പങ്കെടുത്തു.

ആദ്യമായി സെറ്റിൽ പോയപ്പോൾ തന്നെ വളരെ നാണം കുണുങ്ങിയായിരുന്നെന്ന് അപ്പിയ ഓർക്കുന്നു. "ഇത് ഡിവൈൻ ലവ് എന്ന പേരിൽ ഒരു വീനസ് ഫിലിം പ്രൊഡക്ഷൻ ആയിരുന്നു. എനിക്ക് കേറ്റ് എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു. വളരെ നന്നായി ചെയ്തുവെന്ന് ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല. ഞാൻ കുഴങ്ങി. പലരും അത് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല." പരിഭ്രാന്തി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും, എല്ലാവരേയും ആകർഷിക്കുന്നതിൽ അവർ വിജയിച്ചതായി ഫസ്റ്റ് ടൈമർ പറഞ്ഞു.

വീനസ് ഫിലിംസിന്റെ മമ്മീസ് ഡാട്ടർ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലാണ് തന്റെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ഭാഗമെന്ന് അപ്പിയ പറയുന്നു. മകളായി രാജകുമാരിയായി അഭിനയിച്ച ബാർട്ടൽസ് കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ കഥയാണ് ചിത്രം പറയുന്നത്. "ഞാൻ അഭിനയിച്ചത് എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. ഞാൻ അഭിനയിച്ച വേഷത്തിൽ ഞാൻ സന്തുഷ്ടയായിരുന്നു". അപ്പിയ ഇപ്പോൾ പ്രാദേശിക സിനിമാ വ്യവസായം മികച്ച രീതിയിൽ മാറിയതായി കാണുന്നു. മറ്റുള്ളവർ അതിന്റെ ആത്യന്തിക വിജയം കാണുമെന്ന് അവർ കരുതുന്നു.

ബിയോൺസ് - ദ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡോട്ടർ, പ്രിൻസസ് ടൈറ, പാഷൻ ഓഫ് ദി സോൾ, പ്രെറ്റി ക്വീൻ, ദി പ്രിൻസ് ബ്രൈഡ്, ദി കിംഗ് ഈസ് മൈൻ, ദി പെർഫെക്റ്റ് പിക്ചർ എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി വിജയകരമായ ഘാന സിനിമകളിലൂടെ അപ്പിയ നോളിവുഡിന് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.[9] നോളിവുഡ് നടൻ റാംസെ നോഹയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം[10][11] മൈ ലാസ്റ്റ് വെഡ്ഡിംഗ്, നോളിവുഡ് നടൻ എമേക ഇകെയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം ബ്ലാക്ക് സോൾ, ബിറ്റർ ബ്ലെസിംഗ് എന്നിവ അവരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ നോളിവുഡ് ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.[12]

2013-ൽ, അബുജയിൽ നടന്ന പാപ്പിറസ് മാഗസിൻ സ്‌ക്രീൻ ആക്ടേഴ്‌സ് അവാർഡ് (PAMSAA) 2013-ൽ മികച്ച അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര നടിക്കുള്ള അവാർഡ് അവർ നേടി.[13]

എച്ച്‌ഐവി എയ്‌ഡ്‌സിനെതിരെയുള്ള സംരക്ഷണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ജിഎസ്‌എംഎഫ് പരസ്യം ഉൾപ്പെടെ ഘാനയിലെ നിരവധി പരസ്യബോർഡുകളിലും ടിവി പരസ്യങ്ങളിലും അപ്പിയയുടെ മുഖം കാണാം. ടിവി പരസ്യങ്ങളിൽ അവർക്കായി നടത്തിയ പ്രമോഷനിൽ അവർ യു.ബിയുടെ മുഖം നേടി. നിലവിൽ പരസ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ബിൽബോർഡുകൾക്കുമായി അവർ ഐപിഎംസിയുടെ മുഖമാണ്. "GSMF" ആയിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ ടിവി പരസ്യം.[14]

2005-ൽ പീറ്റർ അഗ്യേമാങ്ങിനെ ജാക്കി വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു. അവർക്ക് ഡാമിയൻ എന്ന ഒരു മകനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. മൂന്ന് വർഷത്തെ ദാമ്പത്യത്തിന് ശേഷം അവർ വേർപിരിഞ്ഞു.[15]
