വയലറ്റ് കുടുംബത്തിലെ വയലേസീയിൽ പൂക്കുന്ന സസ്യങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ജനുസ്സാണ് (US: /vaɪˈoʊlə/ and UK: /ˈvaɪ.ələ/)[1] വിയോള. 525 മുതൽ 600 വരെ ഇനങ്ങൾ അടങ്ങുന്ന കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ജനുസ്സാണ് ഇത്.[2][3]വടക്കേ ഹെമിസ്ഫിയറിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും മിതമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു; എന്നിരുന്നാലും, ഹവായി, ഓസ്ട്രാലിയ, ആൻഡീസ് എന്നീ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ വ്യാപകമായി ഇവ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
