മഞ്ഞ വാലുകുലുക്കി[2] [3][4][5] എന്ന ഈ പക്ഷിയെ ആംഗലത്തിൽ Western yellow wagtail എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Motacilla flava എന്നാണ്.ദേശാടന പ്ക്ഷിയാണ്.വെള്ള വാലുകുലുക്കി ഒഴികെ കേരളത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന എല്ലാ വാലുകുലുക്കികളും ദേശാടനക്കാരാണ്. വെള്ള വാലുകുലുക്കി (white wagtail) ദേശാടകനാണ്. വലിയ വാലുകുലുക്കി (white browed wagtail /Large pied wagtail) ആണ് സ്ഥിരവാസി.
രൂപവിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
പുറംഭാഗം മഞകലർന്ന തവിട്ടു നിറവും അടിഭാഗം മഞ്ഞനിറവുമാണ്.കാലും ചുണ്ടുംകറുപ്പു നിടമാണ്.നീണ്ടവാലും മെലിഞ്ഞ ശരീരവുമാണുള്ളത്.കാലുകൾ നീളമുള്ളവയാണ്, വിരലുകളും.[6]

മഞ്ഞ വാലുകുലുക്കിയുടെ വംശവൃക്ഷവും സിസ്റ്റമാറ്റിക്ക്‌സും വളരെ ഏറെ ആശയകുഴപ്പം ഉള്ളതാണ് നിലവിൽ ഡസൻ കണക്കിന് ഉപവർഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട് ഇതിൽ തന്നെ 12 - 15 എണ്ണം ഇപ്പോൾ വാലിഡ്‌ ആണ് .
