ഗ്യാസ് ലൈറ്റിങ്
ഒരു ലക്ഷ്യം മുന്നിൽക്കണ്ടുകൊണ്ട് വ്യക്തിയിലോ ഗ്രൂപ്പിലെ അംഗങ്ങളിലോ ഒരു വ്യക്തി സംശയത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുകൾ വിതയ്ക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന മനഃശാസ്ത്രപരമായ കൃത്രിമത്വത്തിന്റെ ഒരു രൂപമാണ് ഗ്യാസ് ലൈറ്റിങ്. ഇത് അവരുടെ സ്വന്തം മെമ്മറി, ധാരണ, വിവേകം എന്നിവയെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു. നിരന്തരമായ നിഷേധം, തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണ, വൈരുദ്ധ്യം, നുണ എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഗ്യാസ് ലൈറ്റിങ് ഇരയെ അസ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനും ഇരയുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തെ നിയുക്തമാക്കുകയുമാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇരയെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെ ദുരുപയോഗം ചെയ്യുന്നയാൾ വിചിത്രമായ സംഭവങ്ങൾ അരങ്ങേറുന്നതിന് മുമ്പുണ്ടായ മോശം സംഭവങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് ഒരു ദുരുപയോഗക്കാരൻ നിരസിച്ചതുമുതലുള്ള സംഭവങ്ങൾ വരെയാകാം. 1938-ലെ പാട്രിക് ഹാമിൽട്ടന്റെ ഗ്യാസ് ലൈറ്റിങ് എന്ന നാടകത്തിൽ നിന്നും ഇതിന്റെ 1940, 1944-ലെ ഫിലിം അഡാപ്റ്റേഷനുകളിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് ഈ പദം ഉത്ഭവിച്ചത്. ഈ പ്രയോഗം ക്ലിനിക്കൽ, ഗവേഷണ സാഹിത്യത്തിലും [3][4], രാഷ്ട്രീയ വ്യാഖ്യാനത്തിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.[5][6]
