2008 മുതൽ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയിലെ ന്യൂ സൗത്ത് വെയിൽസിലെ ചീഫ് ഹെൽത്ത് ഓഫീസറാണ് കെറി ഗായി ചാന്ത് എഒ പിഎസ്എം ഒരു പബ്ലിക് ഹെൽത്ത് ഫിസിഷ്യനാണ്. കോവിഡ്-19 പാൻഡെമിക് സമയത്ത് ന്യൂ സൗത്ത് വെയിൽസിന് പതിവായി പൊതുജനാരോഗ്യ ഉപദേശം നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട് അവർ പ്രാധാന്യം നേടി. 2021 മാർച്ചിൽ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ വുമൺ ഓഫ് ദ ഇയർ ആയി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[1]
ആദ്യകാലജീവിതം
[തിരുത്തുക]ന്യൂ സൗത്ത് വെയിൽസിലെ പഞ്ച്ബൗളിലാണ് ചാന്റ് വളർന്നത്.[2] പെൺകുട്ടികൾക്കായുള്ള ഡെയ്ൻബാങ്ക് ആംഗ്ലിക്കൻ സ്കൂളിൽ ചേർന്ന് 1980-ൽ ബിരുദം നേടി.[3] മെഡിസിൻ പഠനത്തിന് മുമ്പ് അവൾ റീട്ടെയിൽ ജോലികളിലും ഫാർമസിയിലും ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.[4] അവർ ന്യൂ സൗത്ത് വെയിൽസ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ചേർന്നു. അവിടെ അവർ ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് മെഡിസിൻ, ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് സർജറി, 1987-ൽ ഹെൽത്ത് അഡ്മിനിസ്ട്രേഷനിൽ മാസ്റ്റർ, 1995-ൽ മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് പബ്ലിക് ഹെൽത്ത് എന്നിവ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.
