ഫണ്ണിംഗ്1998 ഏപ്രിൽ ഒൻപതിന് ജോർജിയയിലുള്ള കോൺയേഴ്സിൽ ടെന്നിസ് പ്രൊഫഷണൽ ആയിരുന്ന ഹെയ്ഥർ ജോയ് (മുമ്പ്, ആരിംഗ്ടൺ), സെയിന്റ് ലൂയിസ് കർദ്ദിനാൾ ടീമിലെ ചെറുകിട ലീഗ് ബേസ്ബോൾ കളിക്കാരനും ഇപ്പോൾ ലോസ് ഏഞ്ചലസിലെ ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് സെയിൽസ്മാനുമായ സ്റ്റീവൻ ജെ. ഫണ്ണിംഗ് എന്നിവരുടെ മകളായി ജനിച്ചു.[2]അവരുടെ അമ്മയുടെ മുത്തച്ഛൻ അമേരിക്കൻ ഫുട്ബോൾ കളിക്കാരനായ റിക്ക് അറിംഗ്ടണും അവരുടെ അമ്മായി ഇഎസ്പിഎൻ റിപ്പോർട്ടർ ജിൽ അറിംഗ്ടണും ആണ്.[3]ഡക്കോട്ട ഫണ്ണിംഗിന്റെ ഇളയ സഹോദരിയാണ് ഫണ്ണിംഗ് . ഇവർ ഒരു അഭിനേത്രിയും മോഡലുമാണ്.[4][5] ഞങ്ങൾ വളരെ സാധാരണ സഹോദരിമാരാണ്. ഞങ്ങൾ രണ്ടുപേരും ഒന്നിച്ചു സ്കൂളിൽ പോകുകുകയും ഒരുമിച്ചു കളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.എന്ന് ഫണ്ണിംഗ് പറയുകയുണ്ടായി.[6]
