കൊർവിദെ കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു വലിയ പാസെറൈൻ പക്ഷിയാണ് അമേരിക്കൻ കാക്ക ( Corvus brachyrhynchos ). വടക്കേ അമേരിക്കയിലുടനീളം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു സാധാരണ പക്ഷിയാണ് ഇത്. അമേരിക്കൻ കാക്കകളിൽ കാരിയൻ കാക്കയും, ഹൂഡെഡ് കാക്കയും പുതിയ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. അമേരിക്കൻ കാക്കകളും ഹൂഡെഡ് കാക്കകളും തമ്മിൽ വലിപ്പവും ഘടനയും പെരുമാറ്റവുമെല്ലാം സമാനമാണെങ്കിലും അവയുടെ ശബ്ദം മാത്രം വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്.
