^  The "Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela" has been the full official title since the adoption of the new Constitution of 1999, when the state was renamed in honor of Simón Bolívar. ^  The Constitution also recognizes all indigenous languages spoken in the country. ^  Area totals include only Venezuelan-administered territory. ^  On January 1, 2008 a new bolivar, the bolívar fuerte (ISO 4217 code VEF), worth 1,000 VEB, was introduced.

വെനിസ്വേല (ഔദ്യോഗികമായി ബൊളിവേറിയൻ റിപ്പബ്ലിക് ഓഫ് വെനിസ്വേല) തെക്കേ അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഒരു രാജ്യമാണ്. വൻകരയുടെ വടക്കൻ തീരത്താണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

വൻകരാ ഭാഗവും കരീബിയൻ കടലിലെ ചില ദ്വീപുകളും ചേർന്നതാണ് ഈ രാജ്യം. കിഴക്ക് ഗയാന, തെക്ക് ബ്രസീൽ, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് കൊളംബിയ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളുമായി അതിർത്തി രൂപവത്കരിക്കുന്നു. ഉത്തരാർദ്ധ ഗോളത്തിൽ ഉഷ്ണമേഖലയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ രാജ്യം ഭൂമദ്ധ്യരേഖയോട് വളരെ അടുത്താണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

സ്പാനിഷ് കോളനിയായിരുന്ന വെനിസ്വേല 1821-ലാണ് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം നേടിയത്. കാരക്കാസ് ആണ് തലസ്ഥാനം.
