മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയുടെ സംസ്ഥാന പക്ഷിയാണ് മഞ്ഞക്കാലി പച്ചപ്രാവ്.[2][3] വന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ സാധാരണ കണ്ടു വരുന്ന ഇവയ്ക്ക് കാഴ്ചയിൽ പ്രാവിനോട് സാദൃശ്യമുണ്ട്. പച്ച കലർന്ന മഞ്ഞയും തവിട്ടു നിറവുമാണ് ഇവയുടെ ചിറകുകൾക്ക്. നല്ല കട്ടിയുള്ള ചുണ്ടും പ്രത്യേകതരം കാലുകളുമുണ്ട്. കാലിന്റെ ഭാഗത്ത് വെളുപ്പും കറുപ്പും കലർന്ന നിറമാണ്. ആലിൻപഴമാണ് ഇവയുടെ ഭക്ഷണം. കേരളത്തിലുമെത്താറുണ്ട്.[4][5]
