പേർസെപൊലിസ് ( പഴയ പേർഷ്യൻ Pārśa [2]പുതിയ പേർഷ്യൻ تخت جمشيد Takht-e Jamshid or پارسه Pārseh ) പേർഷ്യക്കാരുടെ നഗരം എന്ന് അർത്ഥമുള്ള നഗരമാണ്. [3] ഹഖാമനി സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ (ca. 550–330 BCE) തലസ്ഥാനം ആയിരുന്നു പേർസെപൊലിസ്. ഇന്നത്തെ ഇറാനിൽ ഷിറാസ് നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്നും എഴുപത് കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്ക്കിഴക്കാണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഈ പ്രാചീന നഗരത്തിന് 515 BCE വരെ പഴക്കമുണ്ട്. ഹഖാമനി വാസ്തുവിദ്യ പ്രകാരമാണ് ഈ നഗരം നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. യുനെസ്കോ ഈ നഗരത്തെ ലോക പൈതൃക പ്രദേശമായി 1979ൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[4]
