ഹെർപ്പസ് സിംപ്ലക്സ്, ഹെർപ്പസ് സോസ്റ്റർ (shingles), ഹെർപെസ് ബി എന്നിവയെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ആൻറിവൈറൽ മരുന്ന് ആണ് വാലസിക്ലോവർ .
ഇൻ വിവോ രീതിയിൽ അസിക്ലോവർ ആയി പരിവർത്തനം ചെയ്യാൻ ഇതൊരു പ്രോഡ്രഗ് ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
1995-ൽ മെഡിക്കൽ ഉപയോഗത്തിനായി വാലസിക്ലോവർ അംഗീകരിച്ചു.[1] ഗ്ലാക്സോ സ്മിത്ത്ക്ലൈനിന്റെ വ്യാവസായിക നാമമായ വാൽട്രെക്സ്, സലിട്രേക്സ് എന്നീ പേരുകളിൽ ഇത് വിൽപ്പന നടത്തുന്നു.[2]
മെഡിക്കൽ ഉപയോഗം[തിരുത്തുക]
HSV, VZV എന്നീ അണുബാധകളെ ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നതിനായി വാലസിക്ലോവിർ നൽകി വരുന്നു:[3]
- ഓറൽ, ജനനേന്ദ്രിയ ഹെർപെസ് സിംപ്ലക്സ് (ട്രീറ്റ്മെന്റ് ആൻഡ് പ്രോഫിലാക്സിസ് )
- തുടർച്ചയായി ബാധിതരായ വ്യക്തികളിൽ നിന്നും ആവർത്തിച്ചുള്ള അണുബാധയിൽ നിന്ന് HSV സംക്രമണം കുറയ്ക്കൽ
- ഹെർപെസ് സോസ്റ്റർ (shingles): ഹെർപ്പസ് ചികിൽസയ്ക്കുള്ള സാധാരണ ഡോസുകൾ ഏഴ് തുടർച്ചയായ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ 1,000 മില്ലിഗ്രാം ഓറലായി മൂന്നു നേരത്തേക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്നു.[4]
- അവയവം ട്രാൻസ്പ്ലാൻറേഷനെ തുടർന്ന് സൈറ്റോമെഗലോവൈറസിനെ തടയാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
- ഹെർപസ് വൈറസ് രോഗികളിൽ രോഗപ്രതിരോധ കുത്തിവയ്പ്പ് (അത്തരം രോഗമുള്ള ക്യാൻസർ കീമോതെറാപ്പിക്ക് വിധേയരായ രോഗികളിൽ) [5]
മോണോന്യൂക്ലിയോസിസ് പകർച്ചവ്യാധിക്ക് ഇത് ഒരു ചികിത്സാ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. [6][7][8]ഹെർപ്പസ് ബി വൈറസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ സംശയിക്കുന്ന കേസുകളിൽ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനായുപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
