ഇറാനിലെ ഖുസെസ്ഥാൻ പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ ബെഹ്ബഹാൻ കൗണ്ടിയിലെ സെൻട്രൽ ഡിസ്ട്രിക്റ്റിലെ ഒരു നഗരമാണ് ബെഹ്ബഹാൻ.[3] ഇത് കൗണ്ടിയുടെയും ജില്ലയുടെയും തലസ്ഥാനമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

2006-ലെ ദേശീയ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം ജനസംഖ്യ 24,204 വീടുകളിലായി 99,204 പേർ ആയിരുന്നു .[4] 2011-ലെ തുടർന്നുള്ള സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം 29,280 വീടുകളിൽ 107,412 പേർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.[5] 2016-ലെ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം 35,826 വീടുകളിലായി 122,604 പേർ താമസിക്കുന്നു.[2]

പദോൽപ്പത്തി[തിരുത്തുക]

"ബെഹ്ബഹാൻ" എന്ന പേരിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവം "ബെഹ്" എന്നാൽ "നല്ലത്, മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട", "ബഹാൻ" എന്നാൽ "കൂടാരം" എന്നീ രണ്ട് വാക്കുകളിൽ നിന്നായിരിക്കാം. ദേശത്ത് കുടിയേറിയവർ മുമ്പ് കൂടാരവാസികൾ ആയിരുന്നിരിക്കാം. പ്രദേശത്ത് വീടുകൾ പണിയുമ്പോൾ അവയെ 'കൂടാരങ്ങളേക്കാൾ മികച്ചത്' എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു.[6]

ചരിത്ര സ്മാരകങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ബെഹ്ബഹാൻ നഗരത്തിലെ ജൂതൻ ബഷീറിന്റെയും നസീറിന്റെയും ചരിത്രപരമായ ശവകുടീരം ഈ നഗരത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമാണ്. ഖുസെസ്ഥാൻ പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴയ ചരിത്ര സ്മാരകങ്ങളിലൊന്നായി ഇത് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.[7][8]
