പാകിസ്താനിലെ ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയും ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയുമാണ് ഫർസാന അസ്ലം. ഇപ്പോൾ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ കോവൻട്രി സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ അദ്ധ്യാപികയാണ്.^[1] ഇതിനു മുമ്പ് കറാച്ചി സർവ്വകലാശാലയിലെ വിസിറ്റിങ് പ്രൊഫസർ ആയിരുന്നു.

ജീവിതരേഖ[തിരുത്തുക]

വിദ്യാഭ്യാസപരമായി ഉയർന്ന നിലവാരം പുലർത്തുന്ന വാ കാണ്ട് എന്ന ചെറുനഗരത്തിലാണ് അസ്ലം ജനിച്ചത്.അവിടെ തന്നെയുള്ള എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ് കോളെജിലാണ് കലാലയവിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ആരംഭിച്ചത്.^[2] പിന്നീട് പഞ്ചാബ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലേക്ക് മാറുകയും അവിടെ നിന്ന് ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ BSc എടുത്തു.^[3] ഖൊയിദ്-ഇ-അസം യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്ന് MScയും M.Philഉം എടുത്തു. പിന്നീട് ഫർസാന ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ മാഞ്ചസ്റ്റർ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ചേരുകയും അവിടെ നിന്ന് 2005ൽ ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും ഇരട്ട PhD ബിരുദം കരസ്ഥമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.^[4]^[5]

ഔദ്യോഗിക ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ മാസ്റ്റർ ബിരുദം നേടിയതിനു ശേഷം ഫർസാന പഞ്ചാബ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ഫിസിക്സ് ലക്ചററായി ജോലി സ്വീകരിച്ചു.^[6] കുറച്ചു കാലത്തിനു ശേഷം അവർ മാഞ്ചസ്റ്റർ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയ്ക്കു കീഴിലുള്ള സ്ക്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ഫിസിക്സ് ആന്റ് അസ്ട്രോണമിയിൽ ഗവേഷകയായി ചേർന്നു. അതോടൊപ്പം തന്നെ അവിടെ അദ്ധ്യാപികയായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.^[7]
