പച്ച മുനിയയ്ക്ക് ആംഗലത്തിൽ green avadavat, green munia എന്നീ പേരുകളുണ്ട്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Amandava formosaഎന്നാണ്. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലെ സ്ഥിരവാസിയാണ്. പക്ഷികളുടെ കച്ചവടത്തിൽ പേരുകേട്ട ഗുജറാത്തിലെ അഹമ്മദാബാദിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ പേറിൽ നിന്നാണ് "avadavat" എന്നു വന്നത്. [2]

കൊക്കുകൾ.ശരീരത്തിൽ വെളുപ്പിൽ കറുത്ത വരകളുണ്ട്.
10 സെ.മീ വലിപ്പം. മുകലിൽ പച്ച, അടിവശത്തിന് മഞ്ഞ നിറം. വാൽ മൂടിയുടെ അറ്റത്ത് മങ്ങിയ നിറം. മേൽ വാൽ മൂടിയ്ക്ക് കൂടുതൽ മഞ്ഞ നിറം. വാൽ കറുപ്പ്. താടിയുടെ നിറംമങ്ങിയ മഞ്ഞയാണ്. വാലിനു വീതിയുള്ള തൂവളുകളും കറുപ്പു നിറവും. നെഞ്ചിനു അടിവശവുംവയറും ഗുദവും നല്ല മഞ്ഞ നിറമാണ്.പിങ്കു നിറമൊ തവിട്ടു നിറമുള്ള കാലുകൾ..[3][4]

ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലെ സ്ഥിരവാസിയാണ്.വയനാട്ടിൽഇവയെ ക്ണ്ട്തായി രേഖകളുണ്ട്ref name=pcr/>[5][6]
പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]
ഒക്ടോബർ മുതൽ ജനുവരി വരെ പ്രജനനം നാത്തുന്നു. ജൂലായി യിലും പ്രജനനം നടത്തിയിട്ടൂണ്ട്.വശങ്ങളിൽ കവാടമുള്ള ഗോളാകൃതിയുള്ള വീതിയുള്ള ഇലകൾകൊണ്ടുള്ള കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.വളരെ അടുത്തല്ലാത്ത വിധത്തിൽ കൂടൂകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. ചെറിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളായാണ് ഇര തേടുന്നത്.
