വെനസ്വെലൻ പ്രസിഡന്റാണ് നിക്കൊളാസ് മദുറോ (ജനനം :23 നവംബർ 1962). നേരത്തെ വൈസ്പ്രസിഡന്റും ഹ്യൂഗോ ചാവേസിന്റെ മരണാനന്തരം ഇടക്കാല പ്രസിഡന്റുമായിരുന്നു.
ജീവിതരേഖ
[തിരുത്തുക]ബസ്ഡ്രൈവറായിരുന്ന മദുറോ ട്രേഡ് യൂണിയൻ നേതാവെന്ന നിലയിലാണ് പൊതുരംഗത്തെത്തിയത്. 1992-ൽ അട്ടിമറിശ്രമത്തിനിടെ ചാവേസ് അറസ്റ്റിലായപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മോചനം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് നടന്ന പ്രക്ഷോഭത്തിന്റെ മുൻനിരയിൽ മഡുറോ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അമേരിക്കൻ നയങ്ങളുടെ നിശിത വിമർശകനായ അദ്ദേഹം ചാവേസ് വീണ്ടും അധികാരത്തിലെത്തിയപ്പോൾ ആറ് വർഷത്തോളം വിദേശകാര്യമന്ത്രിയായി. 2012 ഒക്ടോബറിൽ മദുറോയെ വൈസ്പ്രസിഡന്റായി ചാവേസ് നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ചെയ്തു.[8] ഡിസംബറിൽ ക്യൂബയിലേക്ക് നാലാമത്തെ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയ്ക്ക് പോകും മുൻപ് തന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായി മദുറോയെ ചാവേസ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.[9]
2013 ലെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ്
[തിരുത്തുക]ഹ്യൂഗോ ഷാവെസിന്റെ മരണാനന്തരം നടന്ന തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി സ്ഥാനാർഥിയായ നിക്കൊളാസ് 50.66 ശതമാനം വോട്ട് നേടി വിജയിച്ചിരുന്നു. എതിർ സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയായ ഹെൻട്രിക് കാപ്രിലെസിന് 49.07 ശതമാനം വോട്ടാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്.[10]
