ഇൻഡോനേഷ്യയിലെ ജാവാ ദ്വീപിൽ വസിച്ചിരുന്ന കടുവകളാണ് ജാവൻ കടുവകൾ (Panthera tigris sondaica). 1980 നോടടുപ്പിച്ച് ഈ ഇനം ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഇല്ലാതായി.[2][1]
