കൽക്കി 2898 - എ.ഡി 2024-ലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇതിഹാസ സയൻസ്-ഫിക്ഷൻ ഡിസ്റ്റോപ്പിയൻ ചിത്രമാണ്. ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രം ഹൈന്ദവ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ്.[4][5] 2898 എഡിയിലെ ഒരു പോസ്റ്റ്-അപ്പോക്കലിപ്‌റ്റിക് ലോകത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയാണ് ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.[6][7] നാഗ് അശ്വിൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് വൈജയന്തി മൂവീസിന് കീഴിൽ സി. അശ്വനി ദത്ത് ആണ്.[8][9] തെലുങ്ക് ചലച്ചിത്ര വ്യവസായത്തിലാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. തെലുങ്ക് , ഹിന്ദി ഭാഷകളിൽ ഒരേസമയം ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രം ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.[6][10][11] പ്രഭാസിനൊപ്പം അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചൻ , കമൽ ഹാസൻ , ദീപിക പദുക്കോൺ , ദിഷാ പടാനി എന്നിവരും ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിൽ പ്രധാന വേഷങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നു.[12]

വൈജയന്തി മൂവീസിൻ്റെ 50-ാം വാർഷികത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് 2020 ഫെബ്രുവരിയിൽ പ്രോജക്ട് കെ എന്ന പേരിൽ ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും കോവിഡ്-19 പാൻഡെമിക് കാരണം നിർമ്മാണം ഒരു വർഷം വൈകി . ഹൈദരാബാദിലെ റാമോജി ഫിലിം സിറ്റിയിൽ ഒരു ഫ്യൂച്ചറിസ്റ്റിക് സെറ്റിൽ 2021 ജൂലൈയിൽ ചിത്രീകരണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. കൽക്കി 2898 - എഡി 600 കോടി ( US $75 മില്യൺ) ബജറ്റിലാണ് നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് ഇതുവരെ നിർമ്മിച്ചതിൽ വച്ച് ഏറ്റവും ചെലവേറിയ ഇന്ത്യൻ സിനിമയാണ് . ചിത്രത്തിൻ്റെ സംഗീതം നിർവഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് സന്തോഷ് നാരായണനും ഛായാഗ്രഹണം ജോർഡ്ജെ സ്‌റ്റോജിൽകോവിച്ചും പ്രൊഡക്ഷൻ ഡിസൈൻ തൂമ്പാദും (2018) ഫെയിം നിതിൻ സിഹാനി ചൗധരിയുമാണ്. കൽക്കി 2898 എ.ഡി - 2023 ജൂലൈയിൽ സാൻ ഡീഗോ കോമിക്-കോണിൻ്റെ അഭിമാനകരമായ "ഹാൾ-എച്ച്" -ൽ അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യൻ സിനിമയായി മാറി. അവിടെ നിർമ്മാതാക്കൾ ഏറെ പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രത്തിൻ്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക തലക്കെട്ടും കാഴ്ചയും അനാച്ഛാദനം ചെയ്തു.[13][14] കൽക്കി 2898 എ.ഡി 2024 മെയ് 9 നാണ് ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള തിയറ്ററുകളിൽ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യാൻ ഷെഡ്യൂൾ ചെയ്ക്കുന്നത്.[15]

പുരാണങ്ങളുടെയും ഒരു വിദൂര ഭാവികാല ഡിസ്റ്റോപ്പിയൻ സമൂഹത്തിൻ്റെയും പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ കാശിയിലെ ഒരു നിഗൂഢ നഗരമായ കൽക്കി 2898 AD യിൽ ബിസി 3101-ലെ മഹാഭാരതത്തിൻ്റെ ഇതിഹാസ സംഭവങ്ങൾ മുതൽ വിദൂര വർഷം വരെയുള്ള സഹസ്രാബ്ദങ്ങൾ നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഒരു യാത്ര ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. 2898 എ.ഡി.​[16][17][18] ഹിന്ദു ദൈവമായ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിൻ്റെ പത്താമത്തെയും അവസാനത്തെയും അവതാരമായ കൽക്കിയുടെ പ്രഹേളിക രൂപത്തെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റിയാണ് ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ആഖ്യാനത്തിൻ്റെ കാതൽ.[19][20] ഹൈന്ദവ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ വൈഷ്ണവ പ്രപഞ്ചശാസ്ത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു സുപ്രധാന യുഗമായ കലിയുഗത്തിൻ്റെ അവസാനത്തിൻ്റെ തുടക്കക്കാരനായി കൽക്കി പ്രവചിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.[21] ചിത്രത്തിലെ കേന്ദ്രകഥാപാത്രമെന്ന നിലയിൽ കാലത്തിൻ്റെയും സ്ഥലത്തിൻ്റെയും അതിർവരമ്പുകളെ മറികടക്കുന്ന അഗാധമായ സാമൂഹികവും അസ്തിത്വപരവുമായ മാറ്റങ്ങൾക്ക് കൽക്കി ഒരു ഉത്തേജകമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.[22] പുരാതന ഐതിഹ്യങ്ങളും [വിവക്ഷകൾ ആവശ്യമാണ്] ഊഹക്കച്ചവട ഫ്യൂച്ചറിസവും ചേർന്ന് കൽക്കി 2898 - AD വിധി, വീണ്ടെടുപ്പ് മനുഷ്യാസ്തിത്വത്തിൻ്റെ വിശാലമായ വിസ്തൃതിയിൽ വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുട്ടും തമ്മിലുള്ള ശാശ്വത പോരാട്ടത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രമേയങ്ങൾ പര്യവേക്ഷണം ചെയ്യുന്നു.[23][24][25][26]

കൽക്കി 2898 എഡി 2024 മെയ് 9 ന് തിയേറ്ററുകളിൽ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യും.[28] തുടക്കത്തിൽ 2022 റിലീസ് ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് 2024 ജനുവരിയിൽ ഷെഡ്യൂൾ ചെയ്‌തു. COVID-19 പാൻഡെമിക് കാരണവും നിർമ്മാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും കാരണം ഇത് വൈകി.[29] ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രം തെലുങ്കിലും ഹിന്ദിയിലും റിലീസ് ചെയ്യാനും തമിഴ് , മലയാളം , കന്നഡ , ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷകളിലേക്ക് ഡബ്ബ് ചെയ്യാനും പദ്ധതിയിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[30]
