1971 ലെ ഇന്ത്യ-പാകിസ്ഥാൻ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പരമോന്നത സൈനിക ബഹുമതിയായ പരമവീര ചക്ര ലഭിച്ച ഇന്ത്യൻ സൈന്യത്തിലെ ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു കേണൽ ഹോഷിയാർ സിംഗ് ദാഹിയ, PVC (5 മെയ് 1930 - 6 ഡിസംബർ 1998) .

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതം

ഹരിയാനയിലെ സോനിപത് ജില്ലയിലെ സിസാന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ഒരു ജാട്ട് കുടുംബത്തിൽ ചൗധരി ഹിരാ സിംഗിന്റെ മകനായി ഹോഷിയാർ സിംഗ് ദാഹിയ ജനിച്ചു. സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും റോഹ്തക്കിലെ ജാട്ട് കോളേജിലെ ഒരു വർഷത്തെ പഠനത്തിനും ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം സൈന്യത്തിൽ ചേർന്നു.[6]2021 ഡിസംബർ വരെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന ധനോ ദേവിയെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചത്.[7]1963 ജൂൺ 30-ന് ഇന്ത്യൻ ആർമിയുടെ ഗ്രനേഡിയേഴ്‌സ് റെജിമെന്റിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നിയമിച്ചു[6][5] 1965 ജൂൺ 30-ന് ലെഫ്റ്റനന്റ് ആയി സ്ഥാനക്കയറ്റം ലഭിച്ചു.[8]

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ പോസ്റ്റിംഗ് NEFA യിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. 1965-ലെ ഇന്ത്യ-പാകിസ്ഥാൻ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ രാജസ്ഥാൻ സെക്ടറിൽ അദ്ദേഹം പങ്കെടുത്തു[9]. അതിനായുള്ള സന്ദേശങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് പ്രത്യേക പരാമർശം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[10] അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 1969 ജൂൺ 30-ന് ക്യാപ്റ്റനായി സ്ഥാനക്കയറ്റം ലഭിച്ചു.
