അർവിൻ, അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ കാലിഫോർണിയ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ കേൺ കൗണ്ടിയിലെ ഒരു നഗരമാണ്. ബേക്കേർസ്‍ഫീൽഡ് നഗരത്തിൻ 15 മൈൽ (24 കിലോമീറ്റർ) തെക്ക് കിഴക്കായി 449 അടി (137 മീറ്റർ) ഉയരത്തിൽ അരിവിൻ നഗരം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. 2000 ലെ സെൻസസിൽ 12,956 ആയിരുന്ന ഇവിടുത്തെ ജനസംഖ്യ 2010 ലെ സെൻസസിൽ 19,304 ആയിവർദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
1906 ലാണ് ഇവിടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ ലേല വിൽപന ആരംഭിച്ചത്. അർവിൻ പോസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസ് 1914 ൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. 1960 ൽ നഗരം ഏകീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[8] സാൻ ബർണാർഡോനോയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ആദ്യകാലം കുടിയേറ്റ കുടുംബത്തിലെ അംഗമായിരുന്ന അർവിൻ റിച്ചാർഡൻറെ പേരിനെ അനുസ്മരിച്ചാണ് നഗരത്തിനു നാമകരണം നടത്തിയത്.
ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
ഐക്യനാടുകളുടെ സെൻസസ് ബ്യൂറോയുടെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച്, നഗരത്തിന്റെ മൊത്തം വിസ്തീർണ്ണം 4.9 ചതുരശ്ര മൈൽ (13 കിമീ2) ആണ്. ഇതു മുഴുവൻ കരപ്രദേശമാണ്.
കാലാവസ്ഥ[തിരുത്തുക]
കോപ്പൻ കാലാവസ്ഥാ വിഭാഗീകരണ രീതിയനുസരിച്ച് വർഷത്തിൽ കുറച്ചു മാത്രം മഴ കിട്ടുന്ന കാലാവസ്ഥയിണിവിടെ. കാലാവസ്ഥാ ഭൂപടങ്ങളിൽ "ബി.എസ്.കെ" എന്ന് ചുരുക്കെഴുത്ത്. [9]
