2004 മാർച്ച് രണ്ടിനു ഫ്രഞ്ച് ഗയാനയിലെ കുറൂ ബഹിരാകാശകേന്ദ്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് വിക്ഷേപിയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ട റോസെറ്റ എന്ന ബഹിരാകാശ പേടകത്തിൽ നിന്നും ഷുര്യാമോവ്-ഗരാസിമെങ്കോ(67/പി)എന്ന വാൽനക്ഷത്രത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങുന്നതിനു തയ്യാറാക്കപ്പെട്ട ഉപ-പേടകമാണ് ഫിലേ (/ˈfaɪliː/ അഥവാ /ˈfiːleɪ/[3]) നൈൽ നദിയിലുള്ള ഒരു ചെറുദ്വീപായ ഫിലേയുടെ പേരാണ് ഈ പേടകത്തിനു നൽകപ്പെട്ടത്.

2014 നവംബർ 12 നു ഇന്ത്യൻസമയം പകൽ രണ്ടരയോടെയാണ് വാൽനക്ഷത്രത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് 22.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തുനിന്ന് മാതൃപേടകത്തെ പിരിഞ്ഞ് ഫിലേ, വാൽനക്ഷത്രത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് നീങ്ങിയത്.
