വഴിയോരക്കച്ചവടം
പൊതുനിരത്തുകളുടെ ഓരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നോ ഇരുന്നോ സാധനങ്ങൾ കച്ചവടം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെയാണ് പൊതുവെ വഴിയോരക്കച്ചവടം എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്.[1] വഴിവാണിഭം, തെരുവ് കച്ചവടം, പാതയോര കച്ചവടം, ഫുട്ട്പാത്ത് കച്ചവടം തുടങ്ങിയ പേരുകളിലും ഇത് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
പാതയോരത്തുള്ള ഭക്ഷണ- പാനിയങ്ങളുടെയും പഴം, പച്ചക്കറി, മത്സ്യം തുടങ്ങിയ നിത്യോപയോഗ സാധനങ്ങളുടെയും വില്പ്പനയ്ക്കു പുറമെ സ്വയം ചുമന്നു നടന്നോ, ഉന്തുവണ്ടി, സൈക്കിൾ, മോട്ടോർ വാഹനങ്ങൾമൂലമോ ഉള്ള ചരക്കുകളുടെ വില്പ്പനയും വഴിവക്കുകളെ ആശ്രയിച്ചു ചെയ്തുവരുന്ന ചെറുകിട സ്വയംതൊഴിലുകളായ കുട, പാദരക്ഷ, ബാഗുകൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയുടെ 'നന്നാക്കൽ' തൊഴിലുകളും വഴിയോരക്കച്ചവടത്തിൻറെ പരിധിയിൽ വരുന്നു.[2][3] വഴിയോരക്കച്ചവട സംരക്ഷണ-നിയന്ത്രണ നിയമം, 2014 പ്രാബല്യത്തിൽ വന്നതോടെ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ വഴിയോരക്കച്ചവടം നിയമാനുസൃതമായി.[4][5]
ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
പുരാതനകാലം മുതലേ, ലോകത്തെല്ലായിടത്തും വഴിയോര കച്ചവടക്കാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. പുരാതന റോമിൽ വഴിയോര കച്ചവടക്കാരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിന് തെളിവ് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതായും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.[6][7]
