ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ തെലങ്കാനയിലെ 17 ലോകസഭ മണ്ഡലങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് മൽക്കാജ് ഗിരി.[2] 2002ൽ രൂപീകരിച്ച ഡിലിമിറ്റേഷൻ കമ്മീഷൻ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ ശുപാർശകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ പാർലമെന്ററി നിയോജകമണ്ഡലങ്ങളുടെ ഡിലിമിറ്റേഷൻ നടപ്പാക്കിയതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് 2008ലാണ് ഈ മണ്ഡലം നിലവിൽ വന്നത്.[3]
2019 ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച്, വോട്ടർമാരുടെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ലോക്സഭാ മണ്ഡലമാണ് മൽക്കജ്ഗിരി.[4] ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശിലെ ഒരു നിയോജകമണ്ഡലമായി 2009ലാണ് ഇത് ആദ്യമായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടത്തിയത്, അതിന്റെ ആദ്യ പാർലമെന്റ് അംഗം (എംപി) ഇന്ത്യൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിലെ സർവേ സത്യനാരായണയായിരുന്നു. 2014-ലെ ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ് പുനഃസംഘടന നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കിയതോടെയാണ് പുതിയ സംസ്ഥാനമായ തെലങ്കാന രൂപീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്, ഈ മണ്ഡലം അതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ തെലുങ്ക് ദേശം പാർട്ടി പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച മല്ല റെഡ്ഡി ആയിരുന്നു ഐ. ഡി. 1 ൽ നിന്നുള്ള എംപി. 2016 ൽ മല്ല റെഡ്ഡി തെലങ്കാന രാഷ്ട്ര സമിതി പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കാൻ പാർട്ടികൾ മാറ്റി. ഇന്ത്യൻ നാഷണൽ കോൺഗ്രസിനെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്ന രേവന്ത് റെഡ്ഡി മൽക്കജ്ഗിരിയിലെ നിലവിലെ എംപി.
