ഇറ്റാലിയൻ സ്വദേശിയായ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ക്ലാസിക്കൽ നർത്തകിയും നൃത്ത അധ്യാപികയുമാണ് മിലേന സാൽവിനി. കഥകളിക്കു നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾക്കായി 2019 ൽ ഭാരതത്തിന്റെ നാലാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന സിവിലിയൻ ബഹുമതിയായ പത്മശ്രീ ലഭിച്ചു . [1][2] മിലേന സാൽവിനി മിലാനിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. നാലുവയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ അച്ഛൻ മരിച്ചു. അമ്മ മിലേനയെ ഫ്രാൻസിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അവിടെ സംഗീതം പഠിപ്പിച്ചു. [3][4]1962 ൽ കേരള കലാമണ്ഡലത്തിൽ കഥകളിയിൽ പരിശീലനത്തിന് രണ്ടു വർഷത്തെ സ്കോളർഷിപ്പ് ലഭിച്ചു. [5]ഫ്രാൻസലേക്കു തിരിച്ചു വന്നതിനു ശേഷം, കലാമണ്ഡലത്തിന്റെ കഥകളിസംഘത്തിന്റെ അവതരണം യുനെസ്കോയുടെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു.
