1913 ൽ അസറിയേൽ ബ്ലാഞ്ചാർഡ് മില്ലർ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഈ നഗരം രണ്ടാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധം വരെ ഒരുഗ്രാമീണമേഖലയായി നിലകൊള്ളുകയും വ്യവസായ സംരംഭകൻ ഹെൻറി ജെ. കൈസർ ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് ഒരു വലിയ ഉരുക്ക് നിലയം സ്ഥാപിച്ചതിനുശേഷം ഇതിനു മാറ്റം സംഭവിക്കുയും ചെയ്തു.
