ഇന്ത്യക്കാരിയായ ഒരു ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവാണ് പായൽ കപാഡിയ (Payal Kapadia). എ നൈറ്റ് ഓഫ് നോയിംഗ് നഥിംഗ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് 2021 ലെ കാൻ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ മികച്ച ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ചിത്രത്തിനുള്ള ഗോൾഡൻ ഐ അവാർഡ് നേടിയതിനാണ് അവർ കൂടുതൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.[1][2] 2017ൽ അവരുടെ ചിത്രമായ ആഫ്റ്റർനൂൺ ക്ലൌഡ്സ് 70-ാമത് കാൻ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിലേക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഏക ഇന്ത്യൻ ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു.[3] 2024-ൽ, ഓൾ വി ഇമാജിൻ ആസ് ലൈറ്റ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് 2024-ലെ കാൻ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ ഗ്രാൻഡ് പ്രിക്സ് നേടി.[4]
ജീവചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]
മുംബൈയിൽ കലാകാരിയായ നളിനി മലാനിയുടെ മകളായി ജനിച്ച പായൽ ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശിലെ റിഷി വാലി സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിച്ചു. മുംബൈയിലെ സെന്റ് സേവ്യേഴ്സ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് സാമ്പത്തിക ശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദം നേടി. സോഫിയ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു വർഷത്തെ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടി.[5] തുടർന്ന് ഫിലിം ആൻഡ് ടെലിവിഷൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധാനം പഠിക്കാൻ പോയി, അവിടെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ശ്രമത്തിൽ ആണ് അവർ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടത്.[6][5]
